Hello folks,
I wanted 2 add sth like "Main Page" in galery generated with SimpleViewer.
My aim is 2 create Main Page with links to different galleries. So when sb finishes browsing one gallery he/she should have option to go back...

In Porta, select "Edit album" then "Introduction and Album link."
Set Link text something like "Main page" and the Link URL to the main page location. e.g. ../mainpage.html

The dynamic hyperlink depends on your starting (album) point location and the location of your return page.
I don't know where your album is located but it might be deeper than the example I gave.
So, ../mainpage.html does not work for all situations.

I am trying to do this same thing and the hyperlink wont work at all

I am building a website at www.stillartphotography.com.au and I tried using the url of the main page www.stillartphotography.com.au/index.html and just the url addy and neither of them will work.

do I have to use the link I have created in dreamweaver.. to the index page which at present would be something like this C:\Users\User\Documents\stillartphotography.com.au\index.html

for some reason this feature doesnt like me and it is really starting to pee me off.

any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

** I have deleted the galleries that I made as I want to edit them and start again.. so there wont be any if you go to look. **

Hi Adam, was reading your post and thought this page might help you out if you view the code you might be able to work something out. http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~marksy/photo_gallery.html You can download the player from the link on the page.
I am under the impression you can only have one slide show per site. I have a couple of slide shows but each one is on a different site. I would like some one to explain how I can run them all off 1 site. My other problem with Porta is how can I change the black back ground to a picture of a sky or something??? I have only just started using Porta so I still have to get my head around it. I might have to look back on these othert players to find the answer. All the best from Bob in NZ
PS how do you add an Avatar to these forums???

Well after a weekend of getting my head around this great program I have finally figured out a few things and this may help a few others out. At first I played around with 1 gallery and would change the index name to what ever now I discovered when making corrections I would always have to rename the Index file then I wanted more than 1 gallery so through experimenting I discovered that it is best to develope a new Links page but these links could be buttons anywhere when I think about. What I did was to make folders for each Gallery like Gallery1 Gallery 2 etc. Doesn't matter how many you have and I left the index page alone that way when you update each one it just over writes it. My first point of action is to select the pictures I want to use (rename if necessary) and place them in a folder. I then use Porta and it creates the album. I then take all the files from that album and place them in the Gallery1 or Gallery2 folder that I have in front page I then link the buttons to Gallery1/index.html and so on and everything works fine. I think I will keep the main Links page as I will develope more galleries. As time permits layouts may chang but that is what web pages are all about. This is my links page at present: http://kiwi-land.ws/PictureGallery.htm

How do I create a Hyperlink to a paragraph in a document? I want to create a Hyperlink to a specific paragraph in a document, not to the entire document, so that when one follows the hyperlink, he would first get exactly to that paragraph, and then can read the all text of the document if he wishes. Do you know how to do that?

How do I put a hyperlink in my answer? Hey there, race fans! I have seen people put hyperlinks in their questions. I want to put a hyperlink in one of my answers. I thought that if I typed the url, it would make the hyperlink on it's own, but it didn't. How can I do this?

You have to put your url between
Code:
[url]  ...[/url]

You can use the upper right button to generate it but typing [...] also works
